Frequently Asked Questions List
What is a temporary email address?
It is a disposable email address that you can use to receive emails without revealing your real identity. It self-destructs after you are done.
How long do temporary emails last?
For security and privacy reasons, the temporary address and its emails are kept for up to 2 hours of inactivity, after which they are permanently wiped from our servers.
Can I send emails from TempInbox?
No. To protect against spam and abuse, our service is strictly receive-only. You cannot send or reply to emails from our platform.
Can anyone else read my emails?
No. Each generated email address is 100% unique and random. Unless you share your generated email address with someone else, nobody can guess it or read your inbox.
Is this service free?
Yes, TempInbox.me is 100% free to use. We rely on minimal page advertisements to keep our servers running.
Why should I use a disposable email instead of my regular email?
Using a temporary email protects your personal inbox from spam, phishing attempts, promotional clutter, and potential data breaches when signing up on untrusted or temporary websites.
Can I recover an expired inbox or deleted emails?
No. Once the inbox expires (after 2 hours of inactivity) or is manually deleted, all associated emails and data are permanently wiped from our servers to ensure your privacy. They cannot be recovered.
Does TempInbox support email attachments?
Currently, we do not support downloading attachments for security reasons, as attachments can often contain malware or tracking scripts. We focus on delivering text and HTML content safely.
Are there any limits on receiving emails?
There are no strict limits on the number of emails you can receive while your inbox is active. However, extremely large emails or spam bombs may be filtered by our system to maintain server performance.
Is my IP address logged or shared?
No. We value your anonymity. We do not log IP addresses, do not store cookies for tracking purposes, and do not share any session data with third-party analytics companies.
Can I use this for sensitive accounts like Banking or Government?
We highly recommend NOT using temporary email for sensitive services such as banking, government portals, or primary social accounts. Since the inbox is temporary and cannot be recovered, you may lose access to these accounts permanently if you need to perform a password reset in the future.
Do you have a mobile app or browser extension?
Currently, TempInbox.me is a web-based service optimized for all mobile and desktop browsers. We are exploring the development of browser extensions to make your privacy protection even more seamless.
